Children's Privacy Notice
Effective July 14, 2026
LoveLed exists to help parents and guardians homeschool, so information about children is core to what we do. This notice explains, in plain terms, how that information is handled and the control you keep over it. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. A parent-controlled service
Children do not sign up for, log into, or interact with LoveLed. Every account belongs to a parent or guardian (18+), who enters and manages all information about their child. In other words, a child's information reaches LoveLed only because a parent chose to provide it.
2. What we collect about a child, and why
We collect only what's needed to build and manage a homeschool plan:
- First name, age, and optional grade: to tailor age-appropriate lessons and materials.
- Learning preferences (philosophy, learning style, interests, hobbies, subjects, language): to personalize the plan.
- Learning needs: to shape supportive scheduling; a free-text note, if you add one, is distilled into our fixed list of supports and the raw text is not sent to our AI provider.
- Milestone reflections and lesson outcomes: to show progress and refine the plan over time.
3. Protecting your child's name from AI
When we use AI to generate plans or suggestions, your child's name is replaced with a neutral placeholder (such as "your child" or "Child A") before anything is sent to the AI provider, then substituted back only in what you see. The AI provider does not receive your child's real name.
4. What we never do
- We never sell a child's information.
- We never use it for advertising or to build marketing profiles.
- We never share it with advertising networks, and we don't use third-party ad or analytics trackers.
- We never knowingly collect information directly from a child or let a child create an account.
5. Your controls as a parent
You are always in control of your child's information:
- Review & edit any child detail in the app at any time.
- Export a copy of your family's data from Settings → Legal & privacy.
- Delete a child's profile, or your entire account, from Settings; deletion is immediate and permanent.
6. Our COPPA approach
The U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) governs the online collection of personal information fromchildren under 13. LoveLed is designed so that we do not collect information directly from children: the parent or guardian is the account holder and provides the information. We also follow COPPA-aligned practices — data minimization, no behavioral advertising to children, and giving parents the ability to review and delete their child's information. If you believe a child under 13 provided us information without a parent's involvement, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
